About this publication

ZhongKui.Today is being built for English-speaking players who want a quick answer to a practical question—what has actually been confirmed?—without losing the cultural context behind the name Zhong Kui.

The publication has two jobs. The first is to maintain a concise, sourced status desk for official announcements. The second is to publish careful English explainers about Zhong Kui in folklore, art, ritual, and later popular culture. News volume is not the goal; useful distinctions are.

Independent and unofficial

ZhongKui.Today is an independent publication. It is not an official Game Science website, and it is not sponsored, approved, or endorsed by Game Science. “Black Myth,” “Black Myth: Zhong Kui,” and related game assets belong to their respective rights holders.

The domain name describes the publication’s subject. It does not indicate a commercial relationship with the developer.

Who edits it

Pages are researched and maintained by the ZhongKui.Today editorial desk. Each status item records its source and verification date; reporting is attributed to its original publisher.

What is published today

The publication currently contains a homepage overview, a manually reviewed news index and article, a sourced release-status record, an official-video archive, an English Zhong Kui cultural primer, three source-led question guides, and public editorial and privacy policies. The main site does not accept accounts, payments, on-site newsletter submissions, correction forms, or other user submissions.

Newsletter

Newsletter subscriptions and email delivery are handled by Substack at newsletter.zhongkui.today. Emails are occasional rather than weekly. A repository workflow may attempt to assemble a review draft when at least two eligible, manually reviewed news items fall within the same seven-day window; it does not create or send a Substack issue. Every issue must be reviewed, previewed, and sent manually, and Substack’s terms and privacy policy apply when a reader follows that link or subscribes.

An older issue in the Substack archive predates the publication’s current evidence and asset-rights policy and is under review. Until that review is completed, it should not be treated as the current verified status of the game.

Rights and corrections

Official game images remain the property of their rights holder. Museum works, original illustrations, embeds, screenshots, and publication graphics are reviewed by source, rights basis, intended channel, and credit; a use on an editorial page does not grant permission for merchandise, advertising, or paid products.

Material factual changes receive an updated review date and a visible correction note when needed. The site does not currently publish an on-site correction form or a verified corrections email address. A public channel will be listed only after its receipt, monitoring, reply, recordkeeping, and privacy process have been tested. Until then, editors still correct issues found through proactive review but do not claim to accept submissions through an unmonitored channel.

What we are trying to earn

Trust comes before traffic. Every factual status item should expose its evidence level, original source, and verification date. Corrections should be visible. Interpretation should never borrow the visual authority of an official announcement.
